Tropical Soybean in Development Workshop: Dr. Mike Robinson, Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture: Getting the Horse before the Cart: Critical Steps that Enable Successful Seed Scaling

Mike Robinson is a Chief Scientific Advisor with the Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture.  Mike disucssed the challenge of getting the "horse before the cart" in soybean scaling and development in Africa.  He focuses on the critical steps necessary to enable successful seed scaling.  The Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture (SFSA) focuses on smallholders, productivity, and markets by working with partners in developing countries and emerging markets with an aim of helping small farmers become more professional growers.  SFSA does this by extending science-based know-how, facilitating access to quality inputs, and linking smallholders to markets in profitable ways. More about the SFSA program can be found here.

Mike Robinson discusses the critical steps necessary to enable successful seed scaling in Africa at the Soybean Innovation Lab's Tropical Soybean for Development Workshop held on October 28, 2014 in Washington, D.C.  Find copies of the workshop presentations on the Soybean Innovation Lab's website here!
